In preparation for the talk by Professor Ravi Ravindra on 3 September we are hosting a study and reflection group as part of the Brighton & Hove Centre for Spirituality. There will be a maximum group size of 14 people.
We’ll meet five times, once a month between April and August, for a couple of hours to share reflections on different sections of Ravi’s book, The Gospel of John in the Light of Indian Mysticism. Our gatherings will include meditation, discussion and a shared meal.
The meeting dates are 7.30pm-9.45pm on 23 April, 14 May, 16 June & 26 August. The format for each evening will be a shared meal (everyone brings food to share) followed by meditation and discussion. There will also be a meeting on Sunday 5 July 3pm-5.15pm. On this occasion we’ll start with afternoon tea.
NB Ideally you will be able to come to all the meetings but we ask you commit upfront to at least three of the five dates.
In preparation for each group you will need to have read the relevant sections of the Gospel of John and Ravi’s book. Please note we are reading sections of John’s Gospel at our weekly meditation sessions on Tuesdays at 7.45am and Saturdays at 8am.
The Gospel of John is much more cosmological and mystical in nature than the other gospels. It is one of the world’s great spiritual texts.
