In this experimental workshop we explore improvisational song and simple chant, alongside gentle gesture and movement. On the spiritual journey there is a profound, sometimes playful relationship between sound and silence, movement and stillness. Revd Philip Roderick leads the workshop using percussion, including the ambient hang drum.
Some chants and body prayers will be from the Christian tradition but the workshop is open to people from all faiths and none. No need to read music or be supple. Philip Roderick is an Anglican priest, the founder of the Quiet Garden Movement, and the new monastic community Contemplative Fire. He has been leading workshops on syncopation, chant, movement and spirituality for many years.
