Study and Fellowship Group in January/February

Joining this fellowship and study group is a great opportunity to meet fellow spiritual explorers within the Centre for Spirituality and explore one of the great treasures of the Christian Spiritual tradition, ‘The Return of the Prodigal Son’ by Henri Nouwen. This book looks at the Biblical parable of the Prodigal Son, and its radical call to spiritual transformation. Nouwen writes: “The question is not ‘How am I to find God?’ but ‘How am I to let myself be found by him?’ The question is not ‘How am I to know God?’ but ‘How am I to let myself be known by God?’ And, finally, the question is not ‘How am I to love God?’ but ‘How am I to let myself be loved by God? God is looking into the distance for me, trying to find me, and longing to bring me home.”

We will meet in a home (in either central Brighton or central Hove ) and contribute food for a simple shared meal. After the meal there will be time for meditation and  shared reflections on the book. The group size will be limited to twelve people, and led by Jane Bartlett and John Watters, both coordinators of the Brighton & Hove Centre for Spirituality.

We will meet for three evenings: 19th January, 2nd February, 23rd February 2016, 7.30pm-9.45pm. The group is free, but you will need to purchase the book (approximately £11 new). If you are interested please click on the list on this Meet Up page and we’ll be in touch.
